I have great news! I've located an African focused tour company that will lend their expertise on lodging, tours & airfare for our trip to Senegal, West Africa.
We are considering a 8 day tour. Please email us at globalsampler@gmail.com for itinerary details.

So far I've been researching itinerary for our trip to Senegal. I've been reading other blogger's experience in Senegal so now I'm pumped! I'm hoping which ever month we choose to visit, there will be some sort of festival so that we can really experience true culture!
Well, how much is this going to cost? It will vary. But if I were you, I would begin to save cash now! $2k is a start. You will have to consider airfare, lodging, food & tours!
As you may already know, a passport required! Visas are not required for Americans for a stay up to 3 months!
Oh! The yellow fever vaccination is required! The malaria prophylactics  are recommended.
Right now, I have 6 possible clients (friends) who would like to explore Senegal!

Why Africa? Why not? For someone who grew up with awesome parents and amazing siblings, there remained a tad bit of unnecessary selfishness on the inside. I knew all of my life the art of giving and its rewards, however, the idea did not come full circle until I visited Ghana, Africa. That particular journey resurrected my giving spirit. The people of Ghana were kind and very hospitable. We attended worship service, visited schools, dined in local restaurants and lodged at 4star properties.
Being a person of color, I believe that all people should want to visit Africa. Whether its touring Egypt to marvel at the pyramids or South Africa to gaze inside of the prison where Mandela was jailed for fighting for civil rights. It's human history! I'm often disappointed when I hear people say that they have no interest in trekking to Africa. But, then they're so passionate about visiting Italy! I'm not against visiting Italy and its on my 'to do' list but good grief! You're not Italian or Catholic!
Indeed, I also believe that christians should want to visit Israel where our Lord walked and prayed. But again, I hear the negative comments about the lack of interest of visiting Jerusalem.
This blog is all about encouraging the human spirit to 'undo' the trained psyche and to get excited about something new. An African quote says 'If you don't go, you don't know'! And I want you to be in 'the know'!

I recently pulled some photos from my Ghana trip. That trip was amazing. It was a 9 day trip and worth it. I went with a church group out of Marietta, GA and that group was a fun, personable & memorable group. Each day was filled with some type of adventure from touring the rain forest, trekking across single lane bridges to get to the other side of the rain forest. Oh my, we visited the burial site of the former President Kwame Nkrumah. His campaign was for independence. Ghana was the 1st African country to receive their independence from the British. Oh the banku stew was a delight for the taste buds. However, touring Elima was a hot an heavy historical day. We toured the St George's castle. These castles were no ordinary lifestyle of the rich but slave castles where the British and Portuguese housed Africans before shipping them off to the Caribbeans and the Americas to become slaves. History!
